Rewarding On-Chain Governance Participation with Gems

I’d like to propose a mechanism to reward users who actively participate in governance by voting on proposals.
The goal is to boost engagement and recognize those who contribute to the protocol’s direction.

Discussion Focus
• Should the reward be a flat amount per vote, or weighted based on voting power (e.g., veASF)?
• Should different types of proposals (e.g., parameter changes vs. treasury allocations) yield different rewards?
• How can we prevent abuse, such as spam voting or low-effort participation?

I’m not sure whether a proposal like this can be formally initiated through governance, but I believe it’s worth exploring and discussing with the community.

This is a great idea. Perhaps for repeated/consistent participation makes sense as well

I think we can go one further an introduce an ambassador system that includes reward for active governance participation too. I’ve seen some successful and not-so-successful case studies of similar systems. I’m open to examples of successful ambassador systems
